Choose XT90 if you want its 960 Wh battery and 26 × 2.6 inch tires, and can store and move its approximately 29 kg weight comfortably. Choose GT900 if its 468 Wh battery, wheel options and lower price fit your needs. Both have front and rear suspension and Shimano 21 speed gearing. Neither those features nor battery size alone proves which will suit your route.

XT90 costs €120 more. Its nominal battery energy is 492 Wh greater. These are specification differences, not measured differences in range, ride comfort or hill performance. Do not compare 20 Ah with 13 Ah alone because battery voltage also differs.
When does the larger battery help?
Start with how often charging will be available. Higher nominal energy gives more stored energy, but consumption changes with rider load, hills, wind, temperature, tire condition and assistance use. It does not mean XT90 will travel twice as far on your route. Published maximum distances are unsuitable for planning your last few kilometers home.
Scenario 1: Charging beside secure parking
If your daily trip is modest, you can charge where the bike stays, and GT900 meets your measured needs, paying more for energy you rarely use may add little value. Compare GT900 wheel sizes, riding position and the complete cost first. This is decision advice, not confirmation of any particular daily distance.
Scenario 2: Several trips between charging opportunities
If you regularly combine commuting, errands and weekend rides, XT90 deserves closer attention. List the total distance between charging opportunities and the longest climb. Its larger battery may be useful, but buy only after checking realistic route requirements. If the only socket is upstairs, neither internal battery description settles how charging will work.
Check storage before choosing
- Measure your doorway, parking space and any lift, including the space needed to turn the handlebars.
- Count stairs and awkward landings. XT90 does not fold; approximately 29 kg should be treated as substantial handling weight.
- Do not assume GT900 is lighter simply because its battery stores less energy. Its complete weight still needs confirmation.
- Check frame dimensions and mounting clearance. Wheel diameter alone does not determine rider fit.
Which should you choose?
Put XT90 first if battery energy, wider tires and ground level storage match your priorities. Put GT900 first if its configuration fits and the €120 saving matters more. If stairs or charging access remain unresolved, solve those first. Use our apartment storage guide before making the final choice.
