Choose replacement electric bike batteries by confirmed system compatibility, not voltage, case shape or connector appearance alone. The battery, controls and charger need to work together safely. Similar looking packs can differ internally.
Identify whether replacement is actually the next step
| What happened | What to record | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Gradually shorter distance over many comparable rides | Age, distance pattern, route changes and charge behaviour | Request assessment before assuming the pack alone is responsible |
| Bike does not start or displays errors | Exact error, display behaviour and charging history | Ask for diagnosis without bypassing connectors or protection systems |
| Battery will not charge normally | Bike, battery and charger labels; indicator behaviour | Stop repeated charging attempts and request model specific guidance |
| Pack is swollen, damaged, unusually hot or smells abnormal | Only information safe to gather from distance | Stop use and charging; seek emergency help for smoke or fire |
Send one complete compatibility request
- Bike model, order number and approximate purchase date.
- Clear battery label photo showing part number, voltage and capacity.
- Charger label photo showing model and output ratings.
- Photos of the battery mount, lock and accessible connectors without opening the pack.
- Symptoms, displayed errors and whether damage or water exposure occurred.
- Delivery country and whether the old battery is damaged.
Keep photographs of personal documents and payment details out of the request unless specifically needed through the proper support channel. Do not open the battery casing to discover missing information.
Understand what each specification tells you
| Specification | Useful information | Still needs confirmation |
|---|---|---|
| Voltage | One electrical compatibility field | Approved operating range and connection with the controller |
| Capacity in Ah or Wh | Nominal charge or stored energy | System approval, physical fit and charging compatibility |
| Case and mount | How the pack fits the bike | Locking, contact layout and approved retention |
| Charger connector | One physical interface | Correct electrical output, control and manufacturer approval |
F6 Pro and X5 both list 48 V, 15 Ah and 720 Wh. That matching headline specification does not establish interchangeable batteries. XT90 lists an internal 48 V, 20 Ah battery; GT900 and SU7 list internal 36 V, 13 Ah batteries. Internal replacement should follow the correct service process, not improvised daily removal.
Confirm the complete replacement offer
Request the approved part number, compatible charger, installation route, current availability, complete price and warranty terms for the replacement. Availability and future compatibility should be confirmed for the actual part, rather than inferred from another model remaining on sale.
Do not select higher capacity packs on capacity alone or combine cells, adapters and chargers to make an unconfirmed pack work. CPSC advises using replacement batteries confirmed suitable for the device and warns against incompatible charging.
Arrange return or disposal before sending the old pack
Tell support whether the pack is damaged. Battery transport and collection routes can differ from ordinary parcels, especially for defective packs. Do not post it using ordinary shipping or place it in household waste. Obtain an accepted transport or local collection route and keep its instructions.
