For everyday cycling in France, confirm the exact bike supplied, its required equipment and its identification arrangements. Shipping from Germany does not establish French road eligibility. The product name alone does not tell you how its motor and controls work.

Start with the actual configuration

France treats qualifying pedal assistance up to 25 km/h with maximum continuous rated power of 250 W as ordinary bicycle assistance. The motor must assist pedalling within the legal conditions. Vehicles outside that category can need different approval, registration, insurance and rider requirements.

F6 Pro in the current ARSK supply specification is 500 W. It must not be presented as an ordinary 250 W French road bicycle. Lowering the displayed speed or applying another label does not resolve classification. Ask for the actual category and supporting documents before choosing it for public roads.

Before choosing Evidence to obtain Why it matters
Motor and controls Continuous rated power, assistance cutoff, pedal logic and any independent throttle function Marketing speed and peak output do not fully describe legal operation
Supplied equipment Photos and written list of lamps, reflectors, bell and both brakes Studio images may omit items required for riding
Identification Approved operator, marking arrangement and owner registration process The bicycle identification system is separate from vehicle registration
Delivery and support Delivery address coverage, assembly instructions and seller contact details The journey from delivery box to usable bicycle needs planning

Budget for required road equipment

French official guidance lists front and rear brakes, bell, reflectors and suitable lighting. Front and rear lamps are required at night or in poor visibility. Helmets are compulsory below age 12 and recommended for other riders. Outside built up areas, reflective vest requirements apply at night and in poor visibility.

XT90 currently includes front lighting but no rear lamp. Plan the missing rear lighting and confirm the remaining equipment before riding in conditions that require it. Lights, reflectors and their placement should be checked on the delivered bike; the presence of one front lamp does not complete the equipment check.

Ask how bicycle identification will be completed

For professional bicycle sales covered by French identification rules, ask who applies the mark and registers your ownership details. Request the operator name, completion timing, any charge and the evidence you will receive. Do not accept the frame serial number as proof that the ownership record has been created.

ARSK specific arrangements need written confirmation for your order. If an answer remains open, resolve it before relying on identification being included. Read the separate France bicycle identification guide for the handover checklist.

Check your actual route and home

  • List roads, cycle routes and any restricted paths you expect to use.
  • Measure storage access and decide where charging can take place safely.
  • Check how you will handle stairs, lifting and secure parking.
  • Keep the order confirmation, actual configuration, instructions and identification records together.

Choose the bike only after these practical requirements fit your trip. If public road classification remains unresolved, changing the route description to leisure use does not make the unresolved configuration suitable.
